2017년 ICT 개발 지수, 룩셈부르크 전세계 9위
국제연합기구 국제전기통신연합(International Telecommunication Union, ITU)은 최근 연례 보고서 ‘정보 사회 측정(Measuring the Information Society’ 9판을 발간하였다. 이 보고서는 176개 국가를 대상으로 인터넷, 메타데이터 분석, 클라우드 컴퓨팅, 인공지능 영역의 동시적 발전을 분석한다.
보고서에 따르면, 정보통신기술(ICT) 발전 분야에서 룩셈부르크가 전세계 9위를 차지했다. 이러한 결과는 정치인, 투자자, 개발자들이 벌써 수년에 걸쳐 룩셈부르크를 IT 관련 활동의 세계적인 중추이자 우수한 사이버 보안 및 데이터 보호 능력을 자랑하는 중심지로 도약시키고자 노력을 기울인 성과이다. 유럽 국가 중 독일은 12위, 프랑스는 15위, 벨기에는 25위를 차지했다.
ICT 발전도 측정
ICT 발전도를 측정한 최신 데이터에 따르면, 전 세계적으로 연결성과 ICT 사용량이 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 모바일 광대역 가입자 수가 전 세계 인구의 50%를 넘어서서 인터넷 액세스와 온라인 서비스가 개선될 것으로 전망한다.

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is a specialised United Nations institution which has just published the 9th edition of the annual report’ Measuring the Information Society’. The report analyses simultaneous advances in the areas of the Internet, metadata analysis, cloud computing and artificial intelligence in 176 countries. The result: When it comes to developing information and communication technologies (ICT), Luxembourg comes 9th worldwide. This very positive result rewards the efforts made for many years now by politicians, investors and developers in order to make Luxembourg the world nerve centre for ITC-related activities as well as a centre of excellence for cyber security and data protection.
In comparison, Germany is 12th, France is 15th, and Belgium comes in 25th place.
