South Korean artificial intelligence expert Data Design Engineering set up its European headquarters in Luxembourg. The company decided to come here due to its quickly expanding client network, the opportunity to establish research partnerships and the exceptionally supportive Luxembourg ecosystem.

Rakuten

Japanese internet giant Rakuten explained how it managed to overcome linguistic and cultural barriers when establishing its European headquarters in Luxembourg. With English as Rakuten’s corporate language, the company was able to recruit top talent regardless of their nationality.

“One advantage of being in Luxembourg is the good business environment and the short distance to other big global players as well as to authorities. Overall, we are constantly growing and have multiplied our revenues by 10. We are definitely on track.“ explained Toshihiko “Toby” Otsuka, CEO of Rakuten Europe.

Infinite Reality

On 29 June 2023, John Acunto, CEO of US global metaverse entertainment and innovation leader Infinite Reality announced a pioneering solution that will be released in the next few weeks: a tool that enables anyone to create their own metaverse. Luxembourg is where the company is creating its hub for growing business across Europe.

“We want to use Luxembourg as a launch pad for expanding our business in Europe. We think that this country is in a great position for offering us an excellent set of assets, access and services to grow.” explained CEO François Ribeiro of Infinite Reality Europe.

SDG Global

SDG Global develops solar-powered telemedicine and digital education kits designed in particular for the African market. The company chose Luxembourg as its base for accelerating its global business.

“The start-up ecosystem is booming right now, and the government is making specific efforts to boost it further and to help companies grow out of Luxembourg. We had a facilitator from day one showing us the support and ecosystem.” explained Krrish Kothari, Business Development Manager.

Ohmio Automation Ltd

Self-driving bus shuttle manufacturer Ohmio Automotion Ltd, with roots in Australia and New Zealand, opens its first European office in Luxembourg. After winning a key contract with national railway company CFL, Ohmio will use Luxembourg as its base for addressing the growing demand for autonomous vehicles in Europe.

“We made a submission in Finland last week, we are working on a major project in the UK and we have interest from Austria, Portugal, Italy and Germany. The European market abounds with opportunities.” explained Chairman Mohammed Hikmet.

Siga OT Solutions

Israeli cybersecurity specialist SIGA OT Solutions opened its European HQ in Luxembourg in 2022. Rather than monitoring the OT network, SIGA uses autonomous machine learning and predictive analytics to analyse ICS (Industrial Control Systems) level 0 electrical signals.

“Luxembourg is deeply invested in cybersecurity and innovation. Luxembourg has an open, strong and stable economy and an excellent location in the heart of Europe. We see Luxembourg as our base in Europe and are looking to build relationships with the local government authorities and industrial partners.” commented COO Hagai Galili.

SecurityScorecard

US company SecurityScorecard, is a global leader in cybersecurity ratings and is operating out of Luxembourg to develop its business on the local and European market. Hosted by accelerator Tomorrow Street, the company adds a new component to the country’s internationally renowned cybersecurity ecosystem.

“We are now present in all the major European markets and hope to grow the Luxembourg team in the next few years.” said Ali Mukhamadiev, Senior Strategic Alliances Manager.
